For this modern apartment we used textures to achieve warmth given its location in the Colombia capital. We got inspired by Bogota's tonalities and local materials and represented them in a modern way. For the overall color scheme, we used blues, greens, neutrals and in the entrance a black tone to make a statement once you come in, and for the materials we used natural wood, terrazzo and plaster ceilings to ground the apartment. In the living room area, we custom designed the dining table, a curved couch that encloses the space for entertaining, and built in bar with velvet doors and cobalt high gloss blue interior. A custom designed bookshelf hugs the entire apartment and becomes a focal point as you walk around and serves as a divider for the media room. We chose a Pierre Chareau chandelier and sconces for the main entrance, a circa lighting floor lamp, and thin recessed lighting combined with black spotlights to enhance the decorative art throughout the apartment.
